What is NES / Famicom?

Famicom arrived in Japan in 1983, and NES launched in North America in 1985. In 1986, Famicom Disk System brought disk games to the Japanese console. Classics such as Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Metroid began on these platforms. With Nelkano, you can play on Android, adjust the controls and save game states.

Getting started with NES / Famicom

  1. Save a game on your device

    You need a .nes file for cartridge games or an .fds file for Famicom Disk System games. Use files you have permission to use, such as free games released by their authors.

  2. Add the game to Nelkano

    Open the library, tap + and select a file. Nelkano will add it to your library and open the game. Add games one at a time.

  3. Choose how to play

    Use the on-screen buttons or a compatible controller. You can adjust button positions and sizes in Nelkano's control editor. If you use a Bluetooth controller, pair it in Android settings and enable full-screen mode to play.
